About

Tsafrir’s expertise includes representing major institutions and private entities in highly complex and substantial litigation cases worth tens to hundreds of millions of shekels. His areas of practice encompass private and public companies: disputes over stocks, arbitration involving multiple legal systems and foreign rulings, contests for control, real estate, infrastructure (including transportation and water and energy infrastructure), class action suits, appeals to the Supreme Court, administrative appeals (particularly in the field of tender laws), and others.

In recent years, Tsafrir has been heavily involved in numerous precedent-setting cases that have become guiding principles in Israeli law. Tsafrir represented a precedent-setting case (at both the district and Supreme Courts) concerning the reverse triangular merger practice in public companies and the implications of this practice compared to the mechanism of takeover bids.

Additionally, Tsafrir represented one of Israel’s major communication networks in a precedent-setting case, during which the Supreme Court ruled that anonymous content writers on the internet are entitled to maintain their anonymity and communication companies are not obliged to disclose their identity to claimants alleging that their publication harmed them.

Tsafrir additionally represented one of Israel’s prominent trade union networks in a precedent-setting case related to competition laws (business restriction laws) that examined whether it is possible to make a claim against a governmental authority that exercised illegitimate use of its monopoly power by setting an unfair price for commercial areas it manages, and more.

Tsafrir has been recognized by members of the economic and legal press as one of Israel’s leading attorneys, and provides ongoing consultation to some of the most influential figures in the Israeli economy.

Tsafrir additionally serves as chairman of the  Israeli Bar Association’s Civil Procedure and Evidence Committee, as a magistrate in the Supreme Court, and as a lecturer for the Israeli Bar Association and business professionals in Israel.

Tsafrir also serves as an arbitrator in complex arbitration cases, particularly in the fields of real estate, banking, energy, and commerce, and has been appointed as an arbitrator by various courts. Tsafrir is married to Ravit and is the father of Yonatan, Daniel, and Uriah. He is an avid history enthusiast, with a particular interest in the founding of Israel and World War II.
